The fans of the legendary rock band "Nirvana" celebrate today the aniversation. Today marks 25 years since Nirvana released their ground-breaking album Nevermind. Also, Nirvana baby from the cover of the album, turns 25.

The album, released on September 24, 1991, features classic tunes like Smells Like Teen Spirit and Come As You Are. In the same year, Spencer Elden, the naked baby (that is swimming after a dollar in the pool) on the cover was just a few months old when his parents were asked if their newborn could take part in a photoshoot for an "up-and-coming band called Nirvana".

Following the album's surprisingly successful release, the image on the album's front cover has since been one of the most recognisable of all time. Twenty-five years after its release, Elden has made a splash recreating the famous image to honour the legendary grunge band, Elden told The New York Post.

"I said to the photographer, 'Let's do it naked.' But he thought that would be weird, so I wore my swim shorts," Elden told The Post.

"The anniversary means something to me. It's strange that I did this for five minutes when I was four months old and it became this really iconic image."

Spencer Elden was the naked baby in the pool in the iconic album cover.

Nevermind has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
