RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan tweeted that all the company's accounts in the UK have been blocked.

"They've closed our accounts in Britain. All our accounts. 'The decision is not subject to review.' Praise be to freedom of speech!" wrote Simonian.

In a conversation with RBC, Simonian stated that the decision is not surprising. She noted that the reason for freezing its accounts is unknown, but admitted it might be associated with new sanctions.

"We have no idea of the reason, because neither yesterday nor the day before, or weeks ago there was nothing different happened to us and there were no threats to us. Perhaps, but this is only our assumption, because we are waiting for the announcement of new British and American sanctions. Perhaps this is the explanation. Now our lawyers are trying to determine the cause of the problem," - stated the RT editor.

A point of view expressed also the spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Maria Zakharova said that RT blocked accounts in the UK suggests that "London has left Europe, forgetting about all its obligations under the freedom of expression," according to RIA Novosti.

Earlier, Ofcom, the UK regulator authority in the audiovisual zone, accused RT of bias regarding the coverage of Cuadrilla company business, specializing in shale gas. Ofcom has recorded 15 violations on audiovisual laws during RT transmissions and started an investigation against Russian propaganda TV station.

Before that, in 2014, the UK regulator authority found violations professional ethics of RT in the coverage topics related to the crisis in Ukraine. In particular, the channel has been accused of the presented events exclusively from the position of Russian authorities in Ukraine.
