From poisoning surrogate alcohol in Irkutsk, killing one more person, total number of victims has reached 76, the press Secretary of the regional Ministry of health Tatyana Lebedeva.

"To date, 76 people died. Over the weekend the hospital was delivered in two new patients with symptoms of methanol poisoning, one of them died. Thus, to the present time in hospitals killed 46 people and 31 the body was delivered in Bureau is judicial-medical examination of residence", said Tatyana Lebedeva on Monday.

In hospitals there are 18 people, 29 people left them – 20 issued in connection with the improvement, nine refused treatment, she said.

Earlier it was reported 75 dead and 19 hospitalized.

Results it is judicial-medical examination has shown that the predominant cause of poisoning was the use of methyl alcohol – it is found in all studied to date, 70 dead bodies and in 52 of 55 samples received from the victims. Another three found ethyl alcohol.

In the district of Novo-Lenino Irkutsk there was a mass poisoning surrogate alcohol. The victims began to arrive in medical institutions with the evening of 17 December. According to preliminary data, they used the alcohol – containing liquid perfume cosmetic “bath Concentrate “Hawthorn”. Poisoning called methyl alcohol or methanol, which was contained in the concentrate, although the packaging in the composition means ethyl alcohol.

In a criminal case under article 238 of the criminal code (production, storage, transportation or sale of goods and products not meeting safety requirements) on the fact of mass poisoning , detained 19 people. The malpractice case was also initiated against the Deputy head of the regional Department of Rospotrebnadzor Mikhail Loginova.
