Igor Dodon harps on the same string: says he will cancel the decree of President Timofti whereby Basescu family was granted Moldovan citizenship. Dodon told on NTV channel that he would submit even next week a request for the removal of Basescu's citizenship. On the same issue, the new president said that before the New Year Eve (NYE), Anatol Salaru will no longer hold the position of Minister of Defense.

"The procedure for granting the citizenship was violated. This will underlie the request for the withdrawal of this citizenship. If Basescu wants to become a citizen of Moldova, let him receive it legally, adequately," said Igor Dodon.

As for the situation in the Liberal Party, Dodon said that he supports Ghimpu's decision to dismiss Anatol Salaru from the position of Minister of Defense.

"To not respect a man for the position he holds, is one thing, but to not respect the state institution exceeds all the limits", said Dodon.

He also mentioned that the dismissal of Salaru s the first thing he will do after his official investiture.

However, he declared that will keep his promise also with the prohibition of unionism.
