Candu: Despite Dodon's criticism, Moldova will continue the implementation the Association Agreement
Despite the criticism raised by the opposition and the President of Moldova against the Association Agreement with the European Union, Moldova will continue the implementation of its stipulations with duplicated efforts, said the Parliament Speaker, Andrian Candu, at the meeting with the President of the Lower House of Parliament of Ireland, Sean O Fearghail. The meeting took place during the working visit of the Speaker of Parliament in Ireland.
Andrian Candu has requested political support to promote the topics related to Moldova in the EU structures and the Council of Europe.
The President of the Lower House of Parliament of Ireland said it is important to hear how things will develop in Moldova first handed. The Irish official announced that, currently, in the Irish Parliament is organizing the parliamentary friendship group with the Parliament of Moldova.
The parties discussed the possibility of exchanging experiences on the size of the settlement of disputes from the territories of each Party.
The Speaker announced that he chooses to open a diplomatic representation in Dublin for development of bilateral relations and consular assistance for the Diaspora. In turn, the President of the Lower House of Parliament of Ireland said that Moldovan emigrants are respected and with a good reputation.
Sean O Fearghail agreed to visit Moldova by the end of this year at the invitation of the Speaker.
We remind you that the President Igor Dodon conducted on 6-8 February an official visit to Brussels, during which he had talks with Donald Tusk, Federica Mogherini, Antonio Tajani, Jean-Claude Junker, and Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Rose Gottemoeller. After those talks, Dodon said that he supports the cancellation of the Association Agreement with the EU, that he is against the opening of the NATO Liaison Office in Chisinau. He also criticized the manner of financial support by the EU and he accused the European officials for applying double standards in relation to Chisinau.
