The Special attorney of the German government for cooperation with Russia and countries in Eastern Europe and Washington warned Moscow about a possible military conflict in Syria, writes Deutsche Welle.

Gernot Erler says that "we are witnessing a profound estrangement between Russia and the West, and this becomes more dangerous."

In the United States, currently are taking place serious discussions about the possibility of a direct military intervention in the Syrian conflict, said Erler.

Russia has adopted a law on the conduct on a permanent basis military air forces in Syria.

"It is absolutely clear that this means that we can not rule out military confrontation between the United States and the Russian Federation. Kremlin is acting more and more unpredictably. Russia does not consult anyone and pursues a strategy aimed at confrontation," said Erler.
