Barack Obama plays basketball in election morning ritual
President Obama engaged in a little bit of Election Day superstition Tuesday morning by playing basketball with friends.
Mr. Obama, who has played hoops on Election Day since his first victory in 2008, left the White House before 8 a.m. and traveled in a motorcade to Fort McNair in Washington for a game at a gym on the military base. The president cast his ballot last month during early voting in Illinois.
He has played basketball on both election days during his own run for President. The only time he didn’t was when he lost of the New Hampshire primary to Hillary Clinton.
So far, the rigorous compliance of this tradition brought him luck. It remains to be seen whether it will work not only for himself but also for others and if, as Obama wants, Hillary Clinton succeeds in the White House.
