The Political Party "Platform Dignity and Truth" (PPDA) decided yesterday within the Political Bureau of the party to support Andrei Nastase as the single candidate from the democratic and anti-oligarchic forces , however "if until Thursday at 2 p.m. the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) will not consent to this formula" then PPDA will support the PAS candidate in the presidential elections.

In a statement of the PPDA Political Bureau is said that the party's representatives noted that their partners have rejected additional mechanisms for identifying the joint candidate, proposed by the Political Party "Platform Dignity and Truth".

"Currently we arrived when the postponement decision appointing a single candidate is counterproductive and the effectiveness of its electoral campaign and the chance of the country's change is endangered. We are aware that the only possibility to destroy the campaign of rigging the elections, already put in action by government, can be assured by a solid and strengthened campaign that would not allow vote's segmentation for the anti-oligarchic opposition candidates. Taking into account the objective factors mentioned above, the Political Bureau of the Political Party "Platform Dignity and Truth" repeats the political offer of the party, expressed constantly in public as well as in discussions with the dialogue partners regarding the consolidation on a common platform, with a common agenda that would cover both presidential elections and earlier parliamentary ones.” is mentioned in the statement. 

The PPDA's offer is the following one: "Andrei Nastase's designation as the single candidate for the elections of October 30th,2016 and "Action and Solidarity" Party having the right to submit the candidate for Prime Minister. Given the fact that we went over all the deadlines, we are waiting for the reaction of our partners to October 13th, at 14.00”.

"In the situation that our dialogue partner  will not consent to this formula, the Political Party "Platform Dignity and Truth" will participate in the presidential elections on October 30, 2016 by supporting the candidate nominated by PAS in the campaign”, is also said in the declaration.
