A delegation of the European People's Party made an appeal to voters in Moldova during a press conference in Chisinau. They said that after all analyzed surveys they have concluded that Maia Sandu is the most suitable candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, and voters should give the vote for a pro-European candidate.

"Now the Republic of Moldova will decide whether to follow the path to renovation or to take steps backward. That’s why it is very important for all those who see the future of Moldova in association with the European Union to consolidate to support one pro-European candidate for parliamentary elections, which is why we come up with the proposal for other pro-European candidates to withdraw their candidacy in favor of Maia Sandu and to urge voters to elect her," said Sandra Kalniete, the representative of the European Parliament.

The officials noted the threat of electoral fraud by the "coordinator" and that the issue of funding Dodon's campaign through money from abroad needs to be elucidated. Furthermore, members of the EPP said that "no corrupt candidate" or over which hovers suspection of corruption cannot be a "pro-European candidate."

At the same time, she stressed that the president does not have such an important role and attributions, but the election will set the direction for the development of Moldova.
