Maia Sandu requires additional polling stations for the diaspora
Maia Sandu proposed to the Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration to open additional polling stations for the diaspora.
The request comes after, according to her, at several polling stations were queues and people had to sit for hours to exercise their constitutional right.
"It is not normal when people have to sit for hours in a queue. Such situations took place in Paris, London, Berlin, Bucharest and several polling stations in Italy," she said.
At the same time, Sandu asked the Parliament and Central Electoral Commission to allow voters from diaspora to vote with the identity card of the state where they are located.
"Many citizens went to work with the identity card of the state where they are. Citizens did not take with them the identity cards of Moldova," she declared.
We remind that the government ordered the opening of 100 polling stations abroad.
