The Transnistrian administration blocked the implementation of the Berlin Protocol of June 2016 even if it is very favorable for the Transnistrian region, said invitees to the talk show "Moldova live" on the public TV channel "Moldova 1", IPN reports.

Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Gheorghe Balan said the Moldovan authorities meet with Transnistrian administration’s resistance.

"Tiraspol excessively politicized this accord and blocked it. Chisinau pleads for the rapprochement between the two sides of the Dniester, while Tiraspol does its best to separate them further. We are now trying to identify solutions to follow the country reunification path," he stated.

Ion Manole, director of "Promo-Lex" Association, said the non-observance of the human rights is the biggest problem of the Transnistrian region. "It is important for these people to have their rights and security guaranteed. These issues should be included in the dialogue with Tiraspol," he stated.

The talks in the 5+2 format held in Berlin in June 2016 ended with the signing of a protocol that stipulates the actions that the sides pledged to take in the near future to resolve the Transnistrian dispute. Among the topical problems covered by the protocol signed by Chisinau and Tiraspol are the personal rights of the people living on both sides of the Dniester, academic mobility, freedom of circulation and telecommunications.
