Maia Sandu, the common candidate of the right wing in the presidential elections, and Igor Dodon - the candidate of the left wing, have battled last night in the first electoral debate. There were questions that both candidates did not want to answer and both candidates were accused of false answers. The statements were made during the electoral debates at the TV channel "PRO TV Chisinau".

Maia Sandu denied the accusations made by her opponent that, if she will become president, she will bring Syrian emigrants in Moldova (information launched on a satire site) will legalize gay marriages and will close churches and to the question why the LGBT community supports Maia Sandu, she proposed to the opponent to ask them. Dodon stated shortly afterwards, that he is categorically against marriages between persons of the same sex and against the law on equal opportunities, voted in 2012. "I will cancel it" - has concluded the PSRM candidate.

Later, Maia Sandu accused Igor Dodon that he would be the man of Plahotniuc and she said that she will not sign the anti-Plahotniuc document proposed by her counter-candidate. The Presidential candidate of the right wing hinted that Dodon could go to jail and gave assurances that she will not make important decisions without consulting the citizens.

"Igor Dodon means Plahotniuc. Igor Dodon is the one who does business with Plahotniuc and is flying with his private planes. Tell, Mr. Dodon, where you flew with Plahotniuc's private jet and on whose money. Dodon sold a hotel to Plahotniuc at a ridiculous price and the state lost over 120 million lei. I will not sign any document with Igor Dodon. I sign the anti-Plahotniuc and anti-Dodon. (...) Yes, there is one more criminal who supports me, and that person is you! I do not know what do you have with Filat, but you tell him everything personally, when you will get in the 13th Penitentiary. You have the BEM details, you have been at Ilan Shor's wedding, not me. (...) I take responsibility and I will prove that I have responsibility, as we have shown so far. I assure you that the citizens will take important decisions," said Maia Sandu.

In turn, the PSRM candidate for presidency, Igor Dodon, accused his rival, Maia Sandu, that she would be a product of the oligarchic regime and that she is supported by Vladimir Plahotniuc because she refuses to sign the anti-Plahotniuc document and he mentioned that she voted that Andrian Candu, the wedding godson of Plahotniuc, to be the Speaker of the Parliament. The leader of PSRM promised that if elected head of state, he will ensure good relations with both the Russian Federation and with Romania and the European Union, he will remove Moldovan citizenship to Traian and Maria Basescu couple and he will cancel the law on equal opportunities.

"Maia Sandu is an unionist. Exactly in this studio, a few months ago, she said that she would vote "in favor", if there will be a referendum on unification with Romania. (...) I will be a president of all. The Euro-Asiatic integration will remain a position of the Party. I will keep good relations with the Russian Federation, the European Union and Romania. The citizens of Moldova should not lose the right to travel without visas in the European Union. We must maintain good relations with the Russian Federation, because it is a market for our products, because our citizens are working there. I studied how was granted the citizenship to the Basescu husbands. There were many procedural violations. Mr. Traian Basescu, get ready, because after November 13, you will lose the citizenship that you do not deserve," said Dodon.

Also in the debates, in addition to topics related to the union, church or sexual orientation, Maia Sandu and Igor Dodon held heated discussions on Moldova's statehood, the 14th army, the reform in education and suicides among young people and the modification of the Constitution.
