The US Embassy in Chisinau refers to the conclusions of the OSCE observer mission and called the presidential elections of October 30 and November 13, 2016 as competitive, with respect to fundamental freedoms. At the same time, the US Embassy declares that the US government is ready to cooperate with the authorities of Moldova.

"According to the preliminary conclusions of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission, the elections were competitive, with respect for fundamental freedoms.

We understand that there are allegations of irregularities. The electoral process will be concluded once the Constitutional Court has validated the final outcome.

The U.S. Government is committed to working with the authorities of the Republic of Moldova in support of providing effective and accountable governance for the people of Moldova. We look forward to working with the elected President in this regard", this is the message issued by the U.S. Embassy to Chisinau.

Romania's President, Klaus Iohannis, took note  of the vote cast by the citizens of the Republic of Moldova on November 14. Iohannis declared that the new president must fulfill his term with wisdom and poise, taking into account the special responsibility he has in the full observance of the constitutional capacities of head of state.

Iohannis reiterated the firm support of our country for the European course of the Republic of Moldova and highlighted Romania's support for the further development of the bilateral Strategic Partnership for the European integration of the Republic of Moldova and the continuation of the bilateral cooperation projects with the Government and the local authorities of the Republic of Moldova, in accordance with the expectation of its citizens.

The President of Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, congratulated Igor Dodon on the occasion of victory in the presidential runoff the day after the election.

Putin expressed the desire for a constructive dialogue and also for joint work on the development of Russian-Moldovan relations in accordance with the Agreement of Friendship and Cooperation, signed 15 years ago.
