President Nicolae Timofti today conveyed a congratulatory message to Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis on National Day of Romania. In the addressed message, the head of state emphasizes his satisfaction about the relations between the two countries that in recent years developed rapidly. Timofti is convinced that no matter the "complexity of the challenges", Moldova and Romania will be able to boost bilateral cooperation.

We present you the full message below:

"Dear Mr. President,

I have the honor and pleasure to congratulate you with all my heart, on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of the creation of the modern Romanian state, on behalf of Moldovan people and on my own behalf. I will be honored if you send my homage to all Romanian citizens.

I am glad to ascertain that the political, economic and human relations between the two Romanian states are on the rise. Community of values, language and culture, as well as unconditional support of my country’s European integration surely will represent further a solid foundation for strengthening and diversifying relations between both states.

In this context, I would like to express deep gratitude to the valuable commitment Romania and you personally assumed to implement the internal reform agenda, as well as to modernize our public institutions via projects funded by the Romanian authorities.

Dear Mr. President, I am firmly sure that Moldova will follow in future the European democracy path. Regardless of complexity of challenges, we will manage to capitalize on bilateral cooperation. Or this goal is possible through multidimensional cooperation you promote as head of state and we jointly support.

Conveying wishes of prosperity to Romanian people, I ask you to accept the expression of my special consideration.

Happy Birthday, Romania!"
