Defense Minister Anatol Salaru had an official meeting in Bucharest with Romanian Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos. It happened yesterday, on the National Day of Romania, while in Chisinau Mihai Ghimpu threatened Dodon with a sword, which was said that would have been gifted by Alina Zotea.

Discussions between Salaru and Ciolos focused on Moldovan-Romanian relations in terms of security and defense, but also the regional situation.

Anatol Salaru thanked the Romanian Prime Minister for the support given by the Government to reform and modernize the National Army. Defence Minister reiterated that Romania remains one of the strategic partners of Moldova.

In turn, Dacian Ciolos expressed appreciation for the efforts of the National Army to become inter-operable with the armies of NATO member and partner countries.

The Romanian Premier also confirmed the support and enhancement of the bilateral relations in the defense field.

Also yesterday, the Defence Minister was meeting with his Romanian counterpart, Mihnea Motoc. The two discussed the reform of the National Army, bilateral and multinational exercises with the participation of Moldovan and Romanian military personnel, as well as opportunities for training officers and non-commissioned officers in our military schools in Romania.

At the end of the meeting, Anatol Salaru and Mihnea Motoc signed the Protocol amending the Agreement between Romania and the Republic of Moldova on cooperation in the military field, signed in Chisinau on April 20, 2012.

We remind that the meeting took place in the context of participation of the Defense Minister Anatol Salaru at the military parade on December 1 at the invitation of the Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.

We remind that yesterday Mihai Ghimpu threatened the President-elect of Moldova, Igor Dodon with the sword  telling him to leave the stone in the Great National Assembly Square installed by the PL president when he was interim president. Otherwise, the Liberal said even if the head will not stand where are the legs, he will certainly kiss the sword, a replica of the sword of Stephen the Great, that he brought to the press conference.
