The parliamentary majority wants to leave Vlad Filat without the position of deputy. The topic was discussed last week by the Legal Committee, and on Friday -December 9th - was registered a draft resolution in this regard.

At Thursday's meeting, attended by members representing the parliamentary majority and they all concluded that the premises were enough to vote the project. At the beginning of the meeting came as well the PLDM MP - Anghel Agache, but seeing the "surprise" of the agenda, left the room in protest.

"They cannot register such a project because the Constitutional Court said that the dismissal of a deputy must be a court's final decision. The decision to appeal is final, but not irrevocable. President of the committee told us that this project is based on a request from the Prosecutor General," told us Anghel Agache.

In turn, Head of Legal Committee - Raisa Apolschi - told us that there is another Constitutional Court decision which says that decisions are final and enforceable. It is therefore not necessarily for the court decision to be irrevocable.

As for the fact that the draft resolution had been written at the request of the Prosecutor General, Apolschi said that there was no de facto request in this regard, but simply were respected proceedings:

"The prosecution has requested withdrawal of immunity, therefore Prosecutor's Office is obliged to inform us when there is a final decision, which he did. Further remains for Parliament to take appropriate decisions," said Apolschi.

The same follows from the explanatory note of the draft resolutions obtained by reporters of Deschide.MD, which informs that the chairwoman invoked the notification of the Prosecutor about the sentence of the Court of Appeal and not any request to that effect.

The author explains his intention in the project by several articles of the Constitution and the Code of Criminal Procedure.

If Vlad Filat is dismissed by the parliamentary majority in his place would come the former Minister of Youth, Loretta Handrabura.

We recall that in late June, Buiucani District Court sentenced Vlad Filat to nine years in prison for influence peddling and passive corruption and decided to confiscate his goods, because, according to the indictment, he had received "personally or through intermediaries" goods and services worth nearly 39.6 million dollars (over 795 million lei).

On November 11, the Court of Appeal decided keeping the term of conviction for Vlad Filat, but halved the amount of seized goods, which reached 23.6 million dollars (over 472 million lei). The decision was permanently but revocable.
