Moldova reintroduce the consular fees for the Polish people
Moldova will charge consular fees in the amount of 80 euros for long-term visas granted to Polish citizens. The Parliament adopted at first reading a law project through which it has repealed the initiative from several years ago to abandon the consular fee.
Anatol Vangheli, the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said in the Parliament that this initiative comes as an answer to the Poland decision to introduce a consular fee for long-term visas for Moldovan citizens. A few years ago, Poland unilaterally decided to abolish the consular fee for long-stay visa for Moldovan citizens. Also then and Moldova has taken a similar decision in the spirit of reciprocity, transmits IPN.
This year, Poland has informed the reintroduction of the fee of 60 euros for long-term visas for Moldovan citizens. Consequently, Moldova also repealed the decision through which dropped the consular fees for long therm visas granted to the Polish people. The charge imposed by Moldova is 80 euros.
At the request of deputies, Anatol Vangheli said that this action is not able to affect the relations between the two states, and the diplomacy is guided by the spirit of reciprocity and can not accept a selective behavior towards one country or another.
