The Liberal Party Chairman Mihai Ghimpu, said that Nicolae Timofti did not give any answer regarding the dismissal of the Defense Minister, Anatol Salaru. The statement was made this evening at the "In PROfunzime" show on PRO TV, after what Ghimpu had a meeting today with the president to discuss this matter as well as the new candidate for the leadership of the Defense Ministry.

Ghimpu also said that Valeriu Munteanu is the candidacy PL to replace Salaru, at the Ministry of Defence, but he was unable to talk about this with Nicolae Timofti because no decision has been taken in regard to the first issue (the one concerning the dismissal of the current head of the Ministry of Defense). 

"It is up to the president to make the decision. If he will refuse, he will assume a ministry without a minister. Because it's clear that the future president will not put forward Mr. Munteanu. Because he's a unionist," said Mihai Ghimpu.

Also today, Head of the President's administration, Ion Paduraru stated for realitatea.md that the President has not taken any decision on Salaru. According to him, Nicolae Timofti will make a decision during tomorrow.
