Several parliamentary factions to boycott the inauguration ceremony of Dodon
MPs of PPEM, PL, PLDM and PCRM factions will not go to the inauguration ceremony of President Igor Dodon.
President of the European People's Party of Moldova Iurie Leanca and PPEM vice president Eugen Carpov will not attend the inauguration ceremony of Igor Dodon. The announcement was posted by Iurie Leanca on Facebook.
"I and my colleague Eugen Carpov will not attend the inauguration ceremony of President Igor Dodon. The irresponsible and hateful statements, denigrating the European Union and Moldova, lately made by Igor Dodon, clearly demonstrate that he still lacks the ability to rise to the position obtained. Even if he won this election, Mr. Dodon wouldn't want to understand that the President should be a model, to lead by example, to unite people and not divide them. And those who feel the Romanian way and those who want greater proximity to Russia are part of the same society and they need a leader to bring peace, prosperity and confidence in tomorrow. Consequently, noting that Mr. Dodon has not fully understood his responsibility due to his function, the group of PPEM MPs decided to boycott the inauguration ceremony to convey in this manner the protest against the actions and statements of the President-elect," comments the President of PPEM.
Also today, the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu said that Liberal MPs would not attend the inauguration ceremony.
"You elected a president, crown him! We will not participate at this ceremony," said Mihai Ghimpu.
Subsequently, the Communist MP, Ina Supac, said that the Communist faction will not be present at the ceremony because PCRM does not recognize the presidential elections of this fall.
Shortly after that PLDM MP, Tudor Deliu, has announced that the faction to which he belongs will not be present at the inauguration of Igor Dodon: "I personally do not want to sit in a room with the Russian envoy that in '92 shot my comrades," said Deliu.
Deschide.MD recalls that yesterday the Defense Minister Anatol Salaru received an invitation to the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Igor Dodon, but said that he will not go to the event.
