The Presidency building will be renovated in the near future, but from external funds, "without putting expenses on account of the state budget," said the head of state, according to his spokesman, Ion Ceban.

In a post published on Facebook, Ceban announces that today morning was held the first working meeting with presidential advisers and the first meeting with the administration of the President. Presidency activity, according to the source, from now on will take place after the "new rules".

"New rules in the office of the President. I found out by surprise that the presidency in four years, practically were not organized work meetings pf planning in the morning, nor with the administration, nor with the advisers. We inform you that the Head of State, today held his first working meeting with newly appointed advisers at 8.30, where they presented the priorities for the current week. This will occur daily from now on. We have a full agenda for this week, we invite you to follow it. Also, the first meeting was held with the entire administration of the President, numbering over 70 people. Employees of the administration have been informed that such meetings will be held weekly," he wrote.

At the same time, Igor Dodon wants to renovate in the near future the Presidency building on Stefan cel Mare boulevard, damaged during the protests on April 7, 2009.

"The head of state assured that in the near future the presidency building will be repaired and this will be done from external sources without putting those costs on account of the state budget," said Ceban.

Asked by the reporter of Deschide.MD to provide details on the sources of funding, the spokesman of the president told us that he will return to this subject in the near future, but there are already several preliminary agreements.

We recall that after the April 2009 protests were damaged the Presidency and Parliament buildings. If the latter was repaired and put into operation, the presidency remains, still surrounded by construction fencing. The cost of the repairs estimated in 2009 of the Presidency building is 251.2 million lei. The repair works were to be concluded in 2012, but they were stopped in 2010 for lack of funds.

At the beginning of 2015 the building was restored in excess of 47%. By the spring of 2015, the amount spent by the state authorities to repair presidency did not even get to 110 million.

Contacted by Deschide.MD reporter the representatives of the State Chancellery, at the balance of which the building stands, informed us that in the 2017 State Budget were not envisaged financial resources to repair the building.

In the spring of 2015, the news portal realitatea.md published several photos inside the building.
