Salaru and Basescu discussed the creation of a new political structure in Chisinau
Former Defense Minister Anatol Salaru had a meeting in Bucharest with Traian Basescu, former president of Romania and President of the People's Movement Party. They discussed the need to create a new political party to oppose Russian Federation's attempts to turn Moldova into an enclave of it.
"Today we had an exchange of opinions on the political situation in Moldova with President Traian Basescu. Together we reviewed the issues that appeared after the presidential election in Moldova and the need to continue the Euro-Atlantic path. A topic addressed in the talks was the need to create a new political structure and institutional reconstruction of the state, so we could cope with Russian Federation's attempts to turn Moldova into an enclave of it. The unification is done, not debated!" wrote Salaru.
Deschide.MD recalls that Igor Dodon dismissed the Minister of Defence, Anatol Salaru at the initiative of Libeal Party President, Mihai Ghimpu. Political Bureau of the Liberal Party withdrew a month ago Anatol Salaru's political support. As well, Igor Dodon withdrew Traian Basescu's Moldovan citizenship.
