International rules do not allow the restriction of persons holding diplomatic passports, Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) explained.
The Security Service of Ukraine cannot prohibit the access of Moldovan president to Ukraine because of the statements of Crimea affiliation to Russia.
RBC Ucraina drafted a motion to the SBU and asked if the Moldovan President, Igor Dodon, can be prohibited from entering Ukraine for his statements about Crimea. SBU answered that Igor Dodon is a head of state, therefore benefiting from a special border crossing.
Deschide.MD recalls that in October 2016 the candidate at presidential elections Igor Dodon said in an election debate on RTR Moldova TV channel that Crimea belongs to Russia.
