Moldova-Ukraine relations discussed by Filip with Groysman
Prime Minister Pavel Filip on 12 January had a phone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Groysman. The dialogue was focused on developments recorded within the bilateral partnership and possibilities to boost it.
During the discussion, Prime Minister Pavel Filip reiterated that Moldova backed Ukraine’s efforts to keep peace in the eastern region of Ukraine, by the preservation of the state’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
At the same time, Pavel Filip appreciated the evolutions registered in the Moldovan-Ukrainian dialogue. He highlighted a meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko at the border checkpoint Palanca-Mayaki-Udobnoe, as well as the constructive discussions held with Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv, who visited Moldova to participate in a meeting of the joint inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation.
In the context, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the Moldovan authorities were open for a constructive dialogue with the Ukrainian side, to bolster the trade exchanges between the two countries for the benefit of both states’ citizens.
The official also exchanged opinions on a meeting of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development (GUAM), due in Kiev in the second half of next February. In the context, Pavel Filip stressed that this was an opportunity to discuss up-to-date subjects on the bilateral agenda, as well as to identify new possibilities of development and strengthening the cooperation between the two countries in diverse sectors.
