The Charge d’affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the United States of America, Tatiana Solomon, will represent our country at the inauguration of the new US president, Donald J. Trump. The information was confirmed for Deschide.MD by the representatives of the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

US media wrote that at the event of January 20 are expected over 4 million visitors.

According to US official protocols, no one outside of heads of diplomatic missions is not invited to the official inauguration events. Given the fact that, currently the position of Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in the US is vacant, our country will be represented by Tatiana Solomon.

"All the embassies are invited to participate at the opening ceremony. Once the position of US Ambassador RM is vacant, Tatiana Solomon is appointed as Charge d'Affaires ", the ministry officials said.

The inauguration will take place on January 20 in Congress Square. We expect participation of a smaller number of people, than other presidents. Even if the organizers announced that they would raise up to four million people. In 2009, when Barack Obama took office, the event was watched by 1,8 million American and foreign guests. The US special services claim that, in two days, in Washington will come around 900 thousand people.
