The Ukrainian president, Petro Poroshenko, stressed that Ukraine will do everything in its power that the Moldovan sovereignty and territorial integrity to be respected. Ukraine will work in this direction inclusively within the 5+2 format of negotiations on Transnistrian conflict settlement.

The Ukrainian President, Petro Poroshenko, said during the meeting with the Prime Minister of Moldova, Pavel Filip, that the Commission meeting of Moldovan-Ukrainian trade and economic cooperation will be held this summer. As a result of this meeting, will be resolved the most important trade issues between the two countries.

Another issue addressed at the meeting was the creation of a joint green commission that will examine the matter of hydropower plants on the Dniester river. However, these hydropower plants would ensure the energy independence of Ukraine, but also to provide Moldova with electricity.

"I want to emphasize that Ukraine is ready for a constructive dialogue in terms of the ecology of the Dniester river. Another topic addressed in our meeting has been the supply of Moldova with Ukrainian electricity," said Petro Poroshenko.

During the meeting it was discussed the issue of joint control at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border.

"It's about Palanca Cuciurgan and others checkpoints. We must simplify passing through these checkpoints for the Ukrainian and Moldovan citizens," said Petro Poroshenko.

"President Poroshenko talked about all the topics under discussion. Despite the busy agenda, you find time to meet us. During the meeting we reconfirmed the interest in targeting the social-economic relations, border demarcation, cross-border cooperation," said Pavel Filip.

The Moldovan-Ukrainian commission for trade and economic cooperation is headed by the Deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Economy of Moldova, Octavian Calmac, and the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Stepan Kubiv.
