Speaker Andrian Candu, announced that Moldova will not participate in the CIS Parliamentary Assembly that will take place in St Petersburg on 26-28 March. However Candu said that some MPs - (editorial note) most likely the PSRM fraction - have declared their intention to go to this event. "They can go, but they do it on their own," said the Speaker officially stating that Moldova will not be represented in the proceedings of the Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS.

The reason is lack of action in addressing the issues raised in the note of protest to the authorities in Moscow.

"As you know next week are organized several events related to the plenary sessions of the Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS. Considering the diplomatic note sent to Russia, those abuses the special services of the Russian against Moldovan officials that are mentioned in the note, and that the discussions held with the Russian authorities, there are some positive messages that come from Russia, by different ways. Note that the central authorities of the Russian Federation carefully examines protest note, but nevertheless we do not have an official response from Russia. Hence, the Moldovan delegation will not participate in the meetings of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States," said Andrian Candu.

We remind you that the Speaker, Andrian Candu, and the Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, sent a note to the political leadership of the Russian Federation, through which are reported a series of abuses committed against officials of the Government, special services and parties of the governing coalition in Republic of Moldova.

The note describes how Moldovan officials are stopped illegally at the entrance in the Russian Federation, questioned, searched, treated humiliatingly by the representatives of the Russian special services.

The harassment of Moldovan officials when entering the Russian Federation and putting them under international monitoring, have gained momentum once the laundering investigations of 22 billion dollars through Moldinconbank advanced by Moldovan investigators, money that came from the Russian Federation. Specifically, immediately after they arrested bank officials of the mentioned bank, as for judges and executors, they were put under accusation, some of whom were already sent to court. We mention that the investigation revealed inclusively links between some of the money and attempted bribery of deputies of the Parliament of Moldova.

We highlight the fact that only in recent months, at least 25 Moldovan officials were stopped and treated abusively at the entry into Russian Federation.

Another concern expressed is related to the total lack of cooperation of law enforcement institutions of the Russian Federation with Moldovan investigators in this case and refusing to respond to rogatory commissions sent by Moldovan prosecutors in the investigation of laundering of the 22 billion dollars.

Untill this problem wil be solved, the Moldovan officials will be asked to refrain from travel to the Russian Federation.
