Vlad Plahotniuc has a new goal: To combat drug dealers
Vlad Plahotniuc announces a new goal. After he promoted the necessary regulation of casinos' activity and a few days ago police shut them all down, the politician is after drug dealers. In a message posted on his blog, Plahotniuc warns those dealing with such activities that the countdown has begun.
Vlad Plahotniuc believes that in the case of casinos, the authorities acted correctly and firmly.
"The things were solved by closing the gambling saloons, and their work is to be resumed only after their activity is strictly regulated and there will be ways adjusted to control both the location sites as well as the payment of state taxes or to fully abide the prohibition on children’s access to such places. To understand what a criminal group was acting behind this activity is sufficient to notice how they attempted to fraud the licensing system after the intervention of the authorities in this area was publicly announced. They hoped to gain fraudulently one more year in this way and oppose the measures taken by institutions", Plahotniuc wrote.
According to him, "that persons not only have to pay the damages to the state, but must answer before the law and for the way they tried to prolong criminal activity. As well, the officials who helped him must go behind bars."
Further, Vlad Plahotniuc says that another serious problem is related to the drug consumption. This topic is on the agenda and with his colleagues in the ruling coalition and institutions, they will do everything possible to stop this phenomenon, and those who have participated in developing them will answer before the law.
"Unfortunately, this phenomenon is more noticeable also among children. The adult giving narcotics to children actually destroy lives, therefore they are criminals and must be treated duly. My message to all those involved in this criminal activity is clear: the countdown has begun, it's just a matter of time before they are caught. Short time. This topic is on my agenda and together with colleagues from the ruling coalition and institutions, we will do everything possible to stop this phenomenon, and those who have participated in developing it will answer before the law.
My message to all those involved in this criminal activity is clear: the countdown has begun, it's just a matter of time before they are caught. Short time.", Plahotniuc concluded.
We remind that about 1,000 police officers have received this weekend the mission to shut down and seal all casinos in the country after on Saturday the Licensing Chamber announced that it has suspended 65 licenses of activity for gambling, stakes, casinos and game machines. Police officers were about to close 320 casinos that currently have a valid license of activity.
The suspension of 65 licenses is due to multiple violations identified in the review carried out by the Financial Inspection under the Ministry of Finance and investigations conducted by the Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office together with the National Anti-Corruption Center.
Among the infringements found was the defrauding of the "e-licensing" system which led to a large-scale damage of state budget.
We remind that five employees of the State Licensing Chamber were arrested on Saturday after an operation conducted by anti-corruption prosecutors and CNA officers.
The public servants, including the Deputy Director of the institution, are suspected of having committed a series of frauds on the issue or extension of licenses for operators, providing services in the field of gambling, which caused damage of 15 million lei to the state budget.
