(UPDATE 3:39 p.m.) 30 people were detained until this time within today's operation at Leuseni and Sculeni customs posts. It is about 14 customs officers, three border guards, 6 economical operators and 7 drivers. Details about this operation will be provided in a briefing to be held today at 05.00 p.m. at the CNA headquarters.

(UPDATE 01:19 p.m.) By now have been detained 24 people including 13 customs officers, 3 border police officers, 4 drivers and 4 businessmen, says National Anti-corruption Center (CNA) press officer, Angela Starinschi. Meanwhile, sources within the investigation say that they will be placed in the isolator of the Municipality Police since CNA isolator is full. We remind that Sculeni and Leuşeni customs were reopened after being closed for three hours by the anti-corruption prosecutors and CNA officers.

(UPDATE 11:12 a.m.) Until now have been detained 14 people including 10 customs officers and 4 businessmen, says National Anti-corruption Center (CNA) press officer, Angela Starinschi. 

(UPDATE 09:11 a.m.) Leușeni and Sculeni border-crossing points were reopened. Officers and anti-corruption prosecutors have completed searches at the two customs, but the operation continues with searches at the homes of many customs officers. 

(UPDATE 09:07 a.m.)By this time, seven people  have been detained, including five customs officers and two economic agents.

(UPDATE 08:55 a.m.) By this time, six people  have been detained, including five customs officers and one economic agent.

(UPDATE 08:51 a.m.) Deputy Head of the Customs Service, Grigore Ionițov told Deschide.MD that the operation is organized jointly with the internal security department of the customs service. He also said that the two checkpoints remain closed, but big queues have not formed, yet. The detained customs officers are suspected of passive corruption.

There are more searches conducted at two customs and the homes of customs officers. According to our sources it is a corruption case, and today's action will end with several restraints.

Deschide.MD reminds that a month ago, other 28 customs officers were detained at Palanca and Tudora border-crossing points in a similar operation.
