UPDATE // The building on Uzinelor street that was engulfed in flames risks to collapse
Update (17.30) The over 100 firefighters continue to struggle with the fire that engulfed the warehouse on Uzinelor Street. 4 more fire engines were sent to the spot. After almost eight hours, the fire hasn’t been yet localized.
UPDATE (15:39) More people unite and donate for the family of the dead fireman. Internet users have created an account for donations on guvern24.md where everyone can make a transfer to help financially the family of the fireman who died on duty. Prime Minister, Pavel Filip as well asked the State Chancellery to provide financially the firefighter's family.
As well, first deputy president of PD, Vlad Plahotniuc announced on his Facebook page that "together with Edelweiss Foundation he will provide initially an aid of 150,000 lei, and then will pay for a year, every month, 15,000 lei for maintenance of the two twin girls and in order to solve urgent financial problems."
UPDATE (15:14) Liliana Puscasu: At the moment firefighters try to cool the building area for this not to collapse. Inspectors of Patrol stopped road traffic and evacuated people from nearby because there is a real danger that the edifice will collapse.
UPDATE (15:09) At the beginning of the Central Electoral Commission meeting, the committee members held a minute of silence in memory of the firefighter who died on duty today trying to save several people who were in the building.
UPDATE (14:30) Prime Minister Pavel Filip requested the Prosecutor's Office of Chisinau to investigate the circumstances of the warehouse fire on Uzinelor street and death of the firefighter Nogailic. During the urgent meeting, Filip requested the Chancellery to prepare the necessary documents to give the one who lost his life on duty today the highest distinction of the Republic of Moldova and proper aid for his family.
The head of Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, Mihail Harabagiu, the firefighter who died was among the first who arrived at the scene. He broke a window to enter the building to evacuate people. At one point, the firefighter fell into the void from a height of three meters and a half. He was found at a distance of several dozen meters from the place of fall.
Pavel Filip requested Harabagiu to present as urgent as possible a report on the causes of fire's outbreak and officers who inspected the building in terms of causing fire and an analysis of the response of firefighters.
UPDATE (13:58) Seven firefighters who took part in the extinguishing of the fire on Uzinelor St were taken to the Hospital “Saint Trinity” in Chisinau. Two of them received medical care and could leave, while the others were hospitalized with poisoning.
According to the hospital’s press officer Tatiana Gumene, a woman involved in the fire was also brought to them. Her state is grave, but stable, IPN reports.
UPDATE (13:42) The name of the fireman who died on duty was Ivan Nogailic and he was 28 years old. He had worked at the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service from 2009. His last post was that of team chief at the Rescuers and Firefighters Post of the Service’s National Intervention Center. He had the rank of major sergeant. He was married and had two children. The whole personnel of the Service expressed condolences to the family and close relatives. His colleagues fought for the life of the blocked fireman for more than an hour.
UPDATE (13:30) Firefighters still try to extinguish the flames from the warehouse which is located in a building on Uzinelor street from the capital. In these moments are hospitalized three firefighters.
They got intoxicated with carbon monoxide, but did not suffer burns.
UPDATE (13:03) Prime Minister Pavel Filip convenes today, November 11, 2016, at 14:00, an emergency meeting at the Government with those responsible on the fire in the Ciocana district of Chisinau.
UPDATE (12:57) "The firefighter who was taken out by the DSE climbers, died. He is an DSE employee from the the Republican Center of Operational Services who died on duty. He was 28 years old. He served for a long time on the duty," said DSE press officer.
Liliana Puscasu, told the press that the firefighter who was evacuated from the building that this morning was engulfed in flames, died. He has been for more than 40 minutes on the fourth floor of the building. The same source added that another firefighter who tried to save his colleague was also transported to the hospital.
"The firefighter who died is 28 years old. He served for a long period in the rescue and fire service. He is a real hero who unfortunately died on duty. Everything possible has been done to save this person, inclusively the physicians have made every effort in the ambulance, and also the fellow rescuers and firefighters who changed the tubes with oxygen, but unfortunately they failed to save him," said Puscasu, adding that it is not known yet how many people are still in the building.
UPDATE (12:37) The fireman who was blocked in the building on Uzinelor street, where this morning, a devastating fire broke out, was evacuated from the building. He is in unconscious and was transported to the hospital. The information was confirmed by DSE press officer, Liliana Puscasu.
UPDATE (12:29) In these moments a team of climbers are trying to get out the blocked fireman. The situation is tense. Within minutes we will be back with details of how this operation was conducted.
UPDATE (12:07) Firefighters still endeavor to get their colleague out from the building where the fire broke out. He is blocked for more than half an hour on the fourth floor of the building and his oxygen tube was changed. Similarly, according to the latest information two civilians needed medical care and also a firefighter. The information was confirmed by DSE press officer, Liliana Puscasu.
UPDATE (11:42) A firefighter got trapped in the building on Uzinelor Street, his colleagues are trying to save him. DSE press officer, Liliana Puscasu added that prior two women, a man and a firefighter needed medical care after they got intoxicated with carbon monoxide.
Requested by IPN, Spokesperson of the National Center for Prehospital Emergency Medical Assistance, Diana Blanaru, said that patients picked up at the spot were given first aid and later they were taken to the municipal hospital "Holy Trinity". Their health is of medium gravity.

UPDATE (11:07) Firefighters managed to get one person out of the building. DSE press officer, Liliana Puscasu declared for Publika.MD that according to the latest news, a few minutes ago was rescued a man. Meanwhile, is not known his condition, he, most likely, got intoxicated with carbon monoxide.

A deadly fire started this morning in Chisinau, located on 9 Uzinelor street. At this time, 14 fire fighting vehicles are on the spot and 2 auto-stairs because the flames broke out on the fourth floor of the building.
The information was confirmed for Deschide.MD by DSE press officer, Lilliana Puscasu, who added that according to the latest information more people were evacuated from the building previously and that no one was hurt.
The firefighters have received the call about the fire around 9:58 a.m. Once arrived the firefighters found out that the flames broke out at a warehouse with easily flammable materials. The same source also informed us that the fire can be qualified as one of level III, due to the extent of flames and firefighters use every supplied means to extinguish flames.
