While he was escorted in the corridors of the court, Platon stated that "this case has been falsified in order to distract attention from the bank theft that was committed by Vlad Plahotniuc, who robbed this country and humiliated people". On the question whether he had any links with Ilan Shor, Veaceslav Platon has not responded.
We remind that the prolongation of the arrest warrant on the name of Veaceslav Platon was postponed two days ago on the lawyers' request.
Veaceslav Platon, arrested by the Ukrainian authorities at the request of Moldovan prosecutors, was extradited to the Republic of Moldova three days ago. Veaceslav Platon is criminally investigated for fraud and money laundering in huge proportions, fact which damaged the Banca de Economii with over 800 million lei.
On July 25th , an arrest warrant for 30 days was issued on the name of Veaceslav Platon and he is wanted internationally. Exactly on the same day, the so called “No. 1 raider of CIS”, Veaceslav Platon, was arrested by the Ukrainian authorities in Kiev.
