Lawyers of Vlad Filat published today the operative part of the decision taken by the magistrates of Chisinau Appeal Court. They upheld the first instance decision in the penalty with imprisonment for a term of nine years, but made some changes on the confiscation of former prime minister's goods.

Magistrates ordered, as well, that over 15,500 lei trial expenditure to be transferred to the state and not for the benefit of CNA as was decided by the first instance.

Earlier, lawyer Igor Popa said that the decision will be appealed to the Supreme Court and lawyers will try to make the case a public one so international institutions would find out about it.

Deschide.MD specifies that Buiucani Court sentenced Vladimir Filat on June 27 to nine years in jail for influence peddling and passive bribery in the file of fraud from "Banca de Economii". However, he was fined 60 thousand lei by Buiucani Court magistrates. Moreover, the former prime minister goods of over 4 million lei were seized and he was deprived of the "Order of the Republic".

Motivated judgement will announced on December 9.
