Works to build water treatment plant in Telenesti underway
A waste water treatment plant started to be built in Telenesti town. The Center Regional Development Agency organized a fact-finding visit to the building site where the project is implemented, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Agency.
The waste water treatment plant is erected within the fourth stage of the project. Within this, besides the construction of a station with the capacity of 700 cubic meters a day, the territory around the station will be laid out. There will be build the wiring and a pumping station.
The implementation of this regional project will contribute to higher living standards in the Center region, including in Telenesti and in the villages of Mihalasa, Mihalasa Noua and Inesti, where about 11,300 people live.
Approximately 15 km of sewer pipes in Inesti and Telenesti and by a pumping station in the two settlements where already built within the project.
For this stage, USAID will provide co-financing of US$498,900, but after the waste water treatment station is put into operation. The cooperation with USAID will help step up the monitoring of the effects of investment projects on the environment.
The regional project will come to about 27.5m lei, 20.6m of which was asked from the National Regional Development Fund. This is 75.17% of the total cost of the project. Besides USAID, the Telensti mayor’s office will contribute 150,000 lei.
