The parliamentary majority insists on examining the pension reform
Opposition MPs asked to postpone discussions related to the pension reform for the next week. According to the chairperson of the social committee, Oxana Domenti, it is a sensitive issue that must be analyzed very carefully.
The communist asked that the topic to be postponed for 1-2 weeks in order to organize public debates with the participation of civil society. She noted that this project affects many people and cannot be adopted hastily.
Socialist and Liberal Democrat MPs supported the idea of postponing the project. The proposal on transferring the examination was put to a vote and supported only by 32 MPs from the opposition. Thus, the document is to be debated Friday, December 9th.
Deschide.MD recalls that in the meeting of December 5, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the bill that would reform the pension system. Thus, the reform will give equal rights to all citizens employed: MPs, Government members, civil servants, elected officials, judges, prosecutors and will make that the revenue obtained after 1999 to comply with current income. At the same time, the document provides for an increase by 2026 of the retirement age from 57 to 62 for women and from 62 to 65 for men.
