The Council of Europe will offer 3.87 million € for the construction of 112 social homes in Moldova
The members of the Supervisory Board of Project Implementation Unit (PIU II) for construction of social homes for needy people in our country met yesterday, December 21 2016, in a meeting to analyze how were carried out the initiated projects in this year and to talk about the works and services planned for 2017.
In this context, Iunona Lungul, the manager of PIU II spoke about the objectives from Soroca, Nisporeni, Leova, Hincesti, Ialoveni and mentioned in what districts will begin the construction of social homes, starting next year.
"During the year we completed the construction of social homes initiated in autumn 2014 in the district of Soroca and Hincesti, we continued the works on the goals from Ialoveni and Nisporeni districts and started the construction of housing in Leova disctrict. In total there are 128 apartments completed and commissioned, and another 279 are ready at a rate of 70 percent. We have initiated the process of completing of the necessary documentation for the release of two public procurement procedures, and in the spring of 2017, will begin the construction of 112 social houses from Falesti and Rezina districts" said , the manager of PIU II, Iunona Lungul, during the meeting.
At the same time, the representatives of PIU II reported and the situation on the estimate of costs for the current year and the financial plan for 2017, to finance the construction works of the objectives and the budget of expenses on maintenance of PIU II.
During the talks were mentioned the categories of citizens eligible for social houses.
"The objective of the Project is to provide with houses the young families and people in need with low-income who can not afford financially to purchase an apartment. For this reason, eligible for social housing are people with severe disabilities, Orphan un-institutionalized people, aged between 18 and 21 years old, families with many children, families with one parent who grow at least 2 minors, families with children with severe disabilities, young families under 35, where at least one member is an employee of state institutions in education, health, local social welfare", reminded the Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Construction, Anatoly Zolotcov to the local public authorities of level II.
We mention that social housing in our country are built with the support of the CEB which offers a loan to the Government of Moldova, in the amount of 20, 4 million euros for the period up to 20 years. Also, we reiterate, the beneficiaries are selected locally by a committee that examines the submitted requests by the applicants, verify the legality of documents, follows if the requirements are being met and gives points according to the Regulation on the manner and conditions of the construction project of housing for socially vulnerable people Two.
