The police found 2 tonnes of pork without documents of origin in a truck moving on Tighina St in Chisinau. The driver said the meat was brought from Anenii Noi district and was to be sold at the Central Market of Chisinau, IPN reports, quoting the National Patrolling Inspectorate.

The meat was seized. The driver faces a fine of 3,000 lei and confiscation of the merchandise that was estimated at about 200,000 lei.

The police call on the population to purchase products only from authorized places where the goods are sold after being subject to sanitary-veterinary control.
