Moldova will have a State Register of Animals. A draft decision to this effect was proposed for debates by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.

The State Register of Animals will include systematized information for identifying and tracing animals. It will be the only official source of information about farms and animals kept there, IPN reports.

According to the authors, the register will ensure informational support for determining the observance of the legislation on the country’s food security and providing the consumers with safe products of animal origin.

The private individuals or legal entities that breed cows and bulls, sheep, pigs, horses, donkeys and mules will be obliged to register these in the State Register of Animals.
