Tiraspol, with a $6 billion debt for Gazprom, gives free gas to veterans and pensioners
Pensioners, war veterans, participants in military conflicts and concession beneficiaries from the Transnistrian region will receive free by 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas a month for heating homes starting with this January. The announcement was made by the Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselsky in discussions with members of the region’s executive, which centered on the implementation of his electoral program, IPN reports.
The gas supplied to socially deprived groups of people free of charge will be paid with the money earned by the Transnistrian region from ensuring the transportation of Russian natural gas to the European Union, explained Vadim Krasnoselsky.
“We use our own resources. At our discretion, we will make what the Transnistrian region obtained available to particular categories of concession beneficiaries. This is an important matter of principle,” stated the Transnistrian leader.
The program of action of Vadim Krasnoselsky envisions the restoration of free trips by public transport for pensioners, delivery of 1,000 cubic meters of gas monthly to particular beneficiaries for heating free of charge and provision of free individual entrepreneur’s patent to large families. The team of the Transnistrian leader also promised to solve the currency crisis in several months and to make sure foreign currency is sold free in all banks and currency exchange facilities. Currently, it is difficult to purchase US dollars, euros, Russian rubles, Moldovan lei and Ukrainian hrivnas..
Deschide.MD recalls that President Igor Dodon recognized the Transnistria’s debt for natural gas as country’s total debt worth 6.5 billion to the Gazprom. According to him, Gazprom enterprise does not divide the Transnistria’s debt from Moldova’s total debt. According to INFOTAG agency, Igor Dodon declared this at his meeting with the Russian enterprise leadership on Tuesday.
