The Moldovan authorities have took a note in consternation of the recent decision by Tiraspol's leader Vadim Krasnoselskii to appoint a "plenipotentiary representative" of Transnistria in the Russian Federation and to open a "representative of Transnistria" in Moscow.

"In this connection, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration wishes to state that this act is illegal and illegitimate, considering that it is contrary to both the Moldovan Constitution and the principles and norms of international law commonly accepted" says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration on the appointment of the so-called "plenipotentiary representative" of Transnistria in the Russian Federation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration expects that the Russian authorities will not comply to the approach of Tiraspol and so will confirm the commitment on which they have taken to respect the principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova enshrined in the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the Republic Moldova and the Russian Federation.
