One of the reasons why the Liberal Party leader, Mihai Ghimpu, asked for to be withdrawn the political support of Defense Minister, Anatoly Salaru, was the support of the last mentioned for the common candidate in the presidential election Maia Sandu. At least this emerges from an audio recording, which apparently was made yesterday, at the meeting of the Political Bureau of PL.

Știripesurse.ro writes that after the scandal of statements between the Defense Minister Anatol Salaru, and the elected president, Igor Dodon, the party to which belongs the Minister did not come to support Salaru, on the contrary it makes Dodon's work easier, and its withdrawing the political support for the Minister of Defense.

The reasons declared by PL in a press release, are related to the period after the elections. PL accuses that Salaru tried "to unravel the Liberal Party group from the Parliament and (even) the party itself, by offering to some deputies money and various favors".

In turn, Salaru demands an analysis of the motives for which PL took only 1.8%, although the unionist patch is, much wider.

The same media source writes that, according to some party sources, at the meeting of the Political Bureau of the Liberal Party, accused Salaru of supportig too enthusiastically Maia Sadu in the second round of presidential elections. Although PL was virtually aligned behind Maia Sandu as well, in that round. At a meeting of the party leadership, Mihai Ghimpu read a message of support for Maia Sandu of Salaru.

The Defense Minister, has commented the decision subsequently noting that the real reason why the Political Bureau of the Liberal Party withdrew yesterday its political support would be the fact that the politician asked a pertinent analysis of the outcome of the presidential elections and why the Liberal Party has reached neither 2% . Salaru also says that, most likely, Mihai Ghimpu is affected by his victories and he is afraid that he will lose the position of party chairman.
